Upgrade to an existing plasterboard manufacturing facility to which SCE provided a design and build service. Gypsum is delivered by ship to an unload receival hopper, through three sealed conveyors to a suspended conveyor carrying a travelling discharge plough. This diverts the gypsum into a 45,000T capacity shed.
The plant operates in the Melbourne CBD and we had to adhere to strict town planning requirements for both operational and design requirements.
The project comprised of several large lifts including a 75m long conveyor lift at 25m height, utilising 2 x 450T cranes, during the planned weekend road closure.
