Automation Engineer

The Role:

This position involves designing and programming the industrial control and automation systems associated with Material Handling projects. Working autonomously or in a team, you will manage automation projects and ensure their success by troubleshooting electrical issues, interpreting electrical drawings, and developing software solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects meet customer’s requirements in an efficient manner.

About You:

  • Be tertiary qualified in a relevant subject or Electrical Trade qualified
  • Have experience in PLC programming
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and automation systems
  • Have a good eye for details and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively

Electrical Design Engineer
Hastings  |   Permanent

The Role:

This role is based at our Hastings offices and will primarily be responsible for the design of electrical systems for our products. You will be working across multiple projects at one time and supporting R&D and Innovation with their ongoing projects. It is an integral part of the team working with Mechanical Design, Automation, Electrical Operations, Projects, and Workshop to provide solutions for our customers in an efficient manner. You will lean on your strong organisation and communication skills to be successful in this role as you work alongside multiple teams in the business.

About you – you will:

  • Have an Electrical Engineering Degree, NZCE Electrical or Electrical Trade Qualified
  • Competent in Microsoft AutoCAD Electrical is preferred, not essential
  • Experience in the food / dairy industry is preferred, not essential
  • Have knowledge and understanding of electrical regulations
  • Have knowledge and experience of machine safety standards and design
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work as part of a team and independently when required

Financial Analyst | Treasury & Sustainability
Christchurch  |   Permanent

The Role:

Based out of our Head Office in Christchurch and joining our experienced Finance team, this role will be taking our performance reporting to the next level. You will be responsible for our businesses’ forecasting of cashflow and working capital requirements to ensure our data drives meaningful, accurate, and timely reporting. Being comfortable with handling multi-currency cash flows and hedge accounting is a must as many of our customers are offshore. A further thread of this role will be building, tracking, and refining a carbon reporting programme for the business – to support our ESG programme and company strategy. Using your passion for analysis, data, and sustainability, you will be able to provide data insights and recommendation for consideration to ensure the company reaches its sustainability goals.

About You:

  • A relevant CA qualification

Fitter Fabricator
Hastings  |   Permanent

The Role:

Based out of our Hastings Workshop and a key part of our Manufacturing team, this role supports the manufacturing, installation, and after sales operations of MHM Automation. You will use your mechanical engineering and fabrication skills to build and assemble automated machines, read and interpret engineering drawings, and accurately set out and finish steel work and components. Use fault finding skills to diagnose pneumatic and electrical problems during in house commissioning. This role involves travel to customer’s sites and working closely within the team, so strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital.

About You:

  • Trade Qualification in Fitting / Fabrication or similar
  • Previous fitting/fabrication experience in a mechanical or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask
  • Strong desire to develop and succeed

Sales Manager - Timber | Australia
Brisbane, Australia  |   Permanent

The Role:

Based in Australia and reporting to the General Manager of Sales, this role will be the primary contact for our Australian customers in the timber industry. You will use your strong communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain customer relationships to secure sales of our products. Lean on your knowledge of the industry and latest market trends to offer solutions to customers and identify how our products can address their needs. The Sales Manager’s primary focus will be getting out and meeting with our customers, managing clients, preparing proposals/quotations, and presenting products to prospective customers.

About You:

  • Experience in wood machining, sawmilling and possess technical knowledge of the industry
  • Experience in fabrication of timber process equipment is desirable
  • Excellent customer relationship skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to travel to participate in trade shows and supplier visits around Australia and off shore when required
  • Demonstrated capability to understand manufacturing drawings and specifications
  • Competent use of spreadsheets for costing
  • Is driven, process oriented, and highly self motivated
  • Able to plan work effectively, establish priorities and manage client timeframe expectations
