Automation Manager

The role is inside the Chilling and Freezing Business Unit. Based out of our office in Eight Mile Plains and reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Automation Manager will lead a team of Electrical and Automation Engineers, who are responsible for the design and commissioning of large-scale industrial chilling and freezing systems and their related materials handling equipment.

This role is an integral part of the MHM team working closely with the Projects Team, Mechanical Design, Electrical, Operations, and Suppliers to provide solutions for our customers in an efficient manner.

Safety and Quality Manager

About the role

A newly established role, the Safety and Quality Manager will work closely with business leaders and frontline staff to drive improvement, training and education in health, safety and quality. Day to day duties will include:

  • Lead and implement companywide safety strategies
  • Injury and incident management and prevention
  • Internal and external auditing
  • Reporting and document review
  • Visible coaching and education

Skills and experience

This is a role for someone who wants to lead transformation, you will be comfortable designing and presenting training and workshops, reviewing documents and policies and identifying those areas where improvement is needed. Key to this role will be your ability to energise those around you, and your adaptability in embracing change and growth. Don’t expect to be behind your desk though, you’ll be visible and approachable in the business – this is an active, varied role, integral to the success of the business.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification is essential
  • Previous experience in a senior role
  • Familiarity with ISO requirements
  • Expertise in risk management
  • Proficiency in reporting, data management and quality management systems
  • Strong knowledge of the HSWA and its practical application in a high-risk environment
  • ICAM certificate or similar
  • Flexibility to travel as required

Service Manager

The Opportunity:

As the Service Manager of our Chilling and Freezing business, you'll be at the heart of our Australian operations. This is an exciting new role that is about more than just managing services; it's about being a strategic leader, driving sales through service excellence and proactive management of critical spare parts. Your mission will be to forge lasting relationships with clients, providing unparalleled service across the MHM Group product range. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in a growing business, leading the charge to instil and grow our servicing and aftermarket sales within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of activities for the service team to ensure all policies and procedures reflect the basis to all servicing warehousing.
  • Lead, co-ordinate, engage and inspire our service team to meet customer and company service delivery performance.
  • Lead the department to deliver quotes and service agreements that meet customer and business needs.
  • Management of relationships for key customers to ensure unparalleled service and support.
  • Spare parts management and inventory control within our warehouse.
  • Foster and maintain a close working relationship with our Sales, Engineering and Projects teams to ensure collaborative outcomes for customer and business success.
  • Improve the systems and processes currently utilized to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

Who You Are:

  • You have a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field, or possess a relevant trade qualified experience.
  • You've led service teams in the aftersales industry, ideally with a background in Chilling and Freezing or food processing equipment.
  • Your attention to detail is unmatched, and problem-solving is second nature.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships is your forte, whether it's with internal teams, suppliers, or customers. Domestic and some international travel will be required in order to meet with customers.
  • Exposure to Business Excellence, Lean methodology would be well regarded
  • You're tech-savvy, especially with Microsoft Suite, and possess excellent communication skills. Organisation and multitasking are part of your DNA.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, (Excel and Word)
  • Possess excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to multitask and complete tasks in parallel
  • Experienced and adept at leading teams
  • Possess a strategic and analytic mindset to develop and deliver on new opportunities.
