As a Fabricator, you’ll be a key part of our Fabrication workshop team, delivering high-quality steel fabrication work across a range of engineering projects. You’ll read and interpret technical drawings, fabricate and assemble components, and carry out MIG and flux core welding to a high standard.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll focus on producing accurate, well-finished work while meeting deadlines and maintaining strong quality and safety standards. You’ll collaborate closely with other tradespeople and teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to specification.

Reporting to the Group Safety & Quality Manager, the Health & Safety Advisor will provide practical, hands-on support across MHM and Wyma's New Zealand operations.

This is a visible role that works closely with leaders and frontline teams to strengthen risk management, verify critical controls, support compliance and drive continuous improvement. You will spend time in workshops, operational areas and project sites, building trusted relationships and helping safety become part of everyday decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting hazard identification, risk assessments and safe work planning.
• Conducting inspections, audits and safety observations.
• Investigating incidents, hazards and near misses and supporting corrective actions.
• Coaching leaders, Health & Safety Representatives and employees on health and safety responsibilities.
• Supporting contractor management, project safety and field-based work activities.
• Maintaining health and safety systems, reporting and compliance documentation.
• Coordinating training, inductions, health monitoring and emergency preparedness activities.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting organisational safety priorities.

About You:

• At least three years' relevant experience in a Health & Safety Advisor or similar role within manufacturing, engineering, construction, or another high-risk operational environment.
• A recognized Health & Safety qualification, ideally NZQA Level 4 or above. A Level 6 Diploma or higher qualification would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation, risk management, incident investigation, and safety management systems.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to coach, influence, and engage people at all levels.
